This morning just after 3:30AM, a Clovis Police officer on patrol near Fowler/Alluvial noticed a suspicious vehicle driving in the area. As the officer tried pulling the vehicle over, it sped away, leading officers on a 23-mile pursuit to southwest Fresno. With the assistance of CHP who used spike strips to deflate the vehicle’s tires, the pursuit ended near California/Orange when a Clovis Police officer used a pursuit intervention technique (PIT) maneuver. The three suspects immediately got out and ran but were caught by Clovis and Fresno Police officers a short distance away. No suspects were injured during this incident, however, one Clovis Police officer was treated and released for a minor injury to their hand.

The suspect’s vehicle was found to be filled with mail from over 100 Clovis addresses. The car was towed for evidence, and the three suspects were booked into Fresno County Jail. The suspects have been identified as 42-year-old Yer Vue and 35-year-old Amanda Lizarraga, both of Fresno, and 30-year-old Sombat Vang of Clovis. All suspects were arrested for multiple charges related to this incident, such as mail theft, possession of stolen property and burglary tools, and conspiracy.

We would like to thank both the California Highway Patrol and the Fresno Police Department for their assistance.
