The Clovis Senior Center
Temporary closure of the Senior Center
The Clovis Senior Activity Center has temporarily closed per Fresno County Public Health Department guidelines.
On March 13, 2020, we were notified that the Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging (FMAAA) is suspending the hot meal program at the center as well. Seniors interested in receiving delivered meals can contact the FMAAA directly for more information at (559) 600-4405.
At this time we do not have an estimated date for reopening, but will post updates to this page and on social media. Although the center is closed, staff is still here to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to contact us at 559-324-2750 during our regular office hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm weekdays and we will do our best to connect you with the services and resources you need. The health and wellness of our seniors is our greatest concern.
Clovis Senior Services sponsors a wide range of classes, programs and activities to promote healthy and independent living for individuals 50 years and older. No membership fee is required, although classes and sessions have a small activity fee and/or registration fee. Also, participants are asked to complete a confidential registration form with contact information in the case of emergencies.
Many of the activities take place in the Senior Activity Center, 850 Fourth Street, in Clovis, directly in front of the San Joaquin College of Law and immediately behind the Rex Phebus Veterans Memorial Building. The center, which features a multi-purpose room, classroom/exercise room and kitchen, also is available for rent.
The activity center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Join friends, old and new, for lunch at the Clovis Senior Activity Center. Call the Clovis Senior Activity Center at 324-2750 by 11:00 a.m. the day before you plan to visit so a meal can be reserved for you. Donations are accepted, but if you’re 60 years of age of over, we’re happy to serve you whether or not you choose to donate. We also welcome other guests for a small fee to cover the cost of the meal. Arrangements may be made at the center for the delivery of meals for home-bound seniors who are unable to visit our site for lunch. The meal program is funded in part through a grant from the Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging. In addition to classes, activities and programs, seniors are welcome to drop in for coffee, cards and conversation.
