The City of Clovis has officially announced the opening date of the beautiful and highly-anticipated new community space in Loma Vista – Village Green. To mark the occasion, the city is inviting community members of all ages to attend a Ribbon Cutting Celebration on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Village Green, located at 2610 Encino Avenue in Southeast Clovis. The event will begin with a special ribbon cutting program followed by a community celebration featuring music, kids’ activities, giveaways, and a free barbecue in the park.
The idea behind Village Green first took shape over 20 years ago as part of the 2003 Loma Vista Specific Plan, established by the City of Clovis Planning & Development Services Department. The vision for Loma Vista was to create a new Southeast Urban Center featuring a variety of housing and employment opportunities, recreational activities, shops, and services, with Village Green as the heart and major focal point of the area. Fast forward to today, and Loma Vista is now home to thousands of residents, and the opening of Village Green marks the next step in the continued development of this area. Village Green is the first park of its kind in Clovis and features an amphitheater, clock tower, food truck spaces, a stunning water feature, open grass areas, attractive landscaping, trellises, evening lighting, walking paths, bike racks, restrooms, drinking fountains, several seating areas, and more. Looking to the future, Village Green will be home to a variety of special events, becoming a new community hub in Clovis.
