Toter Information

City of Clovis Refuse Collection

Please have your toters out by 6:00 AM on your collection day. Please note: The City picks up refuse on all holidays. If you have questions or problems related to your refuse collection, please call the Solid Waste Division at (559) 324-2604.

Recycling (Blue Cart) Items

  • Newspaper (including inserts, advertisements, and coupons) 
  • Office paper 
  • Computer paper 
  • Magazines 
  • Junk mail 
  • Catalogs 
  • Telephone books 
  • Brown paper bags 
  • Colored paper 
  • Construction paper 
  • Paperboard
  • Shoe boxes
  • Cereal and similar food boxes
  • Paper milk cartons
  • Paper egg cartons
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Beverage boxes
  • Glass bottles of any color
  • Aluminum (including beverage containers, foil, and food containers)
  • Tin or bi-metal cans
  • Small pieces of scrap metal weighing less than 10 pounds and fitting in container
  • Plastics #1 through #7
  • Lids or caps should be removed from all recycled containers, and all recycled materials should be rinsed clean of food residue.

Refuse (Gray Cart) Items

  • General household debris
  • Styrofoam
  • Non-recyclable plastics (see Blue cart info for more details)
  • Clothing & fabric scraps
  • Cactus
  • Palm fronds
  • Animal waste (bagged)
  • Cooking/vegetable oil (closed container; 1 gallon max. per week)

Organic (Green Cart) Items

  • Grass clippings
  • Pruning debris (including leaves, stems, & flowers)
  • Wood (untreated/unpainted)
  • Other organic materials normally resulting from landscape maintenance
  • Green waste material shall not exceed 3 inches in diameter or 3 feet in length
  • Food waste (including table scraps, peels/pits/cores, and food-soiled paper)
  • Food Waste Recycling

  • Asphalt 
  • Automobile additives
  • Batteries 
  • Cell phones
  • Computer monitors
  • Concrete 
  • Flammable materials
  • Fluorescent light bulbs 
  • Garden sprays
  • Hot coals 
  • Laptop computers
  • Rocks 
  • Roofing material
  • Televisions
  • Tires 
  • Toxic chemicals (herbicides, pesticides, pool chemicals, etc.)
