Last night, Clovis Police Officers responded to a collision on Shaw near Clovis that ended with 1 fatality. Multiple 911 calls came in beginning at 9:32PM on November 1, 2023, reporting that a vehicle had been speeding before crashing into a wall on Shaw just west of Pollasky.

Officers arrived on scene in less than 2 minutes and saw that a car was on fire against a wall. Officers broke the passenger window, pulled the unconscious adult male out and began CPR. The driver was transported to the hospital, where unfortunately he passed away. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver as 26-year-old Fabian Garcia of Clovis.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called out to investigate the circumstances. At this time, their investigation has shown that the car was westbound Shaw traveling at a high rated speed. Just after crossing Clovis, the car side-swiped another car, lost control, and collided into a wall causing major damage and a fire.
