Clovis Police are advising people, who have community mailboxes, to keep an eye out for thieves AND to pick up their mail on a daily basis or more frequently. We are currently experiencing a spike in community mailbox breaches. Officers believe the breaches are taking place in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 10 a.m., but obviously can take place at any time. If you have any information regarding the possible identity of the person or people responsible for these crimes, please call Clovis Police Dispatch at 324-2800. If you see someone breaking into a community mailbox, call 9-1-1 immediately. The Post Office is aware of the situation and is taking steps to repair the damage to the community mailboxes. If you have further questions, please call the Postal Inspector.
