Safe, affordable housing is a priority in Clovis, where targeted efforts including grants, loans, self-help programs, and home repairs have improved living conditions for more than 2,000 low-income homeowners in the past 20 years. The City of Clovis offers housing assistance programs for existing home owners (including mobile homes), and those wanting to purchase their first home. A summary of each program is listed below.
The Fair Housing Council of Central California is available for Clovis residents to utilize in matters of fair housing. Education, guidance, and compliant filing are some of the services offered. First-Time Homebuyer Program
The City of Clovis has a First-Time Homebuyer Program for low- to moderate-income households. The purpose of this program is to provide low-interest, deferred loans to homebuyers to facilitate a monthly mortgage payment that is affordable to lower income households. There is currently a waiting list for this program. Home Rehabilitation Grant Program
The City of Clovis has a home rehabilitation grant program for low- to moderate-income, owner-occupied households in Clovis (including mobile homes). The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to correct health and safety issues in the home. The assistance is provided as a grant, with a maximum amount of $4,500. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, applications can be downloaded from this site, or picked up in person at the City of Clovis Planning and Development Services Department at 1033 Fifth Street in Clovis.
