Clovis Police Arrest 17 Year-Old Juvenile for Felony Animal Cruelty

On Monday, 8/31/15, Clovis Police Detectives arrested a 17 year-old for felony animal abuse.  This 2-month long investigation began on June 14, 2015 when several concerned citizens notified the Clovis Police Department via Twitter of a video showing the animal cruelty.  The video in question showed the juvenile suspect grab a cat by its tail, and throw it 20-30 feet into the air with the cat landing on its back.  Detectives interviewed neighbors from the area of where the video was recorded.  Neighbors did not see the incident, but reported seeing the cat since then, and told Detectives that they had thought it had been mauled because of its injuries. Detectives arrested the 17 year-old juvenile at Clovis East High School yesterday, where he is a student. The juvenile was booked into Fresno County Juvenile Hall for felony animal cruelty and the case is being forwarded to the Fresno County District Attorney.
