A bicyclist has passed away at the hospital 11 days after a collision with a van on Clovis south of Ashlan. On September 18, 2024, just before 1:00PM, a van traveling north on Clovis at Saginaw, collided with a bicyclist who was crossing the roadway. The driver of the van remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, and the bicyclist was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. Lanes of northbound Clovis were temporarily closed as our Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) responded to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
Sadly, on September 30, the bicyclist passed away after succumbing to his injuries at the hospital. On October 2, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the bicyclist as 63-year-old Robby Pokorny of Fresno. This collision remains under investigation currently as our CRU completes their case.
