For a second time this holiday weekend, the Clovis Police Department’s Tactical Operations Unit was called out following a dangerous incident overnight. Just before 9:00 P.M. last night on March 16, 2025, officers responded for a report of a robbery and possible kidnapping between acquaintances that occurred at a home in the area of Clovis/Shaw. Officers determined through their investigation that there had been an argument over money owed to someone. That argument escalated to physical violence where the victim was held against their will and pistol-whipped with a handgun. Due to the violent acts and criminal history of those involved, the Tactical Operations Unit was called out at 1:30 A.M. this morning. Our Tactical Operations Unit members present during this incident consisted of SWAT, Crisis Negotiations, Tactical Dispatchers, UAV operators, and K9.

During the callout, Tactical Operations arrested two adult males without incident at a home near Clovis/Shaw. Officers arrested 46-year-old James Johnson of Clovis and 36-year-old Nathan Medina of Fresno. Both suspects have been booked into Fresno County Jail for several felonies, including robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. The adult male victim is being treated at a local hospital for their injuries, and the handgun and other evidence was located and seized by Detectives.

Evidence - Handgun and ammunition.
