On September 24, the Fresno County Board of Supervisors announced the allocation of $3 Million of CARES Act funding to cities across Fresno County, including the City of Clovis, to assist with economic challenges brought on by COVID-19.
The portion of CARES Act funding distributed to the City of Clovis is $612,000 which will help offset the nearly $10 Million revenue shortfall due to the impacts of COVID-19.
Mayor Drew Bessinger joined elected officials from 14 cities across Fresno County which also received allocations from Fresno County.
“The City of Clovis is grateful to Fresno County for these funds which will help us provide the essential services our residents rely on each day”, Mayor Bessinger said. “We want to thank the Board of Supervisors on behalf of all Clovis Citizens.”
Recipients of the CARES Act allocation have until the end of year to determine where the funds will be spent.
