During Monday’s meeting, the Clovis City Council approved the annual budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. The budget provides for a significant investment in the community, including the areas of public safety, affordable housing, and trails.

Some highlights include:

• Funding for three additional Police Officers
• Significant increase in spending ($7.5 million dollars) for Affordable Housing programs including Down-Payment Assistance and Housing Rehabilitation
• Expansion and investment in the trail system, focusing on the south west portion of the city
• Mobile recreation unit to provide fitness programming to youth throughout the city
