This morning, May 28, 2022, just after 6:00 AM, an officer noticed the suspect of a prior catalytic converter theft driving near Willow/Herndon. The officer tried pulling the driver over but they sped away and a pursuit began.

During the pursuit, the driver crashed into a signal pole at Palm/Herndon and ran away but officers were able to arrest him in a parking lot nearby.

Officers arrested 30-year-old David Garcia of Fresno for grand theft, evading officers, possession of burglary tools, and for 5 warrants. Garcia has been booked into Fresno County Jail. We would like to thank both the Fresno Police Department and Fresno County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this incident.
