Last week, Clovis Police arrested a personal trainer for inappropriate communications with a female teenage client, and detectives are asking the public to come forward, as they believe it is possible that there are more victims. On Thursday, June 26, detectives arrested 50-year-old Rick Bracamontes Jr. of Fresno for two felonies, including sending harmful material to a minor electronically, and annoying or molesting a minor. Bracamontes was an independent personal trainer using the facility at Doc’s Gym, located near Herndon and Minnewawa in Clovis for about three years. Doc’s Gym is cooperating with this investigation, and Bracamontes’ access to their facility was immediately revoked.

Our detectives’ investigation shows that the victim began being coached by Bracamontes three years ago, and in December 2024, their communications began to change. Bracamontes would send the victim messages using text messages or social media, asking for photos in different outfits in exchange for money. When his requests started becoming more inappropriate, the victim told her parents who reached out to law enforcement.

Clovis Police Detectives are asking for parents to speak to their children, especially if they have been coached by Rick Bracamontes Jr. If you have information regarding Bracamontes or another possible victim, please call the Clovis Police Department’s Crime Tipline at (559) 324-2459. Local and national resources are available 24 hours a day. In Fresno County, you can report child abuse or neglect by calling the Child Protective Services Hotline at (559) 600-8320, or your local law enforcement agency. In Clovis, we are available at 911 for emergencies, and (559) 324-2800 for non-emergencies.
