City of Clovis Issues Two Official Proclamations

The City of Clovis issued two proclamations Monday following the completion of the Extreme Makeover home. Mayor Drew Bessinger presented the proclamations in a news conference which was attended by local media and community leaders.

The first proclamation was presented to both Extreme Makeover and De Young Properties. The proclamation honored and recognized the efforts of both in building and providing a home for the Reeder Family in the Clovis Community.

The second proclamation was presented to Nick Reeder and his Family. The proclamation congratulated the Reeder Family on being chosen as recipients of the Extreme Makeover home.

Mayor Bessinger said, ““The City of Clovis and it’s residents wish to thank the DeYoung Family, the Extreme Home Makeover cast and crew, all of the skilled trade labor, our volunteers and those who donated to this incredible event.  We’re happy to know that a national audience will witness this amazing act, and the heart of our community and our region.  I also want to extend a hearty welcome to our newest Clovis residents: welcome to your new neighborhood Reeder Family.”

Construction on the Extreme Makeover home began Tuesday July 30 in The Highlands by De Young Community, located at Shaw and Highland in Clovis. The home was completed and presented to the Reeder Family on Sunday August 4. This build will be featured in the first episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition when it returns to television after a seven year hiatus. The episode is scheduled to air in January 2020 on HGTV.
