“Clovis is a special place to live and raise a family, and this does not occur by accident.  It takes long-range planning and a commitment to the citizens and our future.  As a 35 year Clovis resident and a 29 year servant of our citizens, as a new Councilmember I plan on making decisions that will be consistent with keeping Clovis ‘Clovis’ for our future generations to enjoy.”

• US Army veteran
• Retired Police Captain from the Clovis Police Department
• Former Interim Police Chief for the cities of Kingsburg, Parlier, and Atwater
• Former Clovis Personnel Commissioner
• BA Degree in Public Administration from Fresno State
• Married to Yvonne Avila-Bessinger since 2000
  2 adult sons, Derek and Christopher, and two granddaughters Blake and Harper
